Lokku Team Event Summer 2009

Fellow Nestorfans,

here at Nestoria we pride ourselves on a rigorous adherence to “just in time” production methods. As such it was appropriate that our team Summer event took place on almost the final official day of summer a few weeks ago.

With speculation rife over the last year about the collapse of the global economy – lead by a fall in house prices in the UK and Spain (two of our biggest markets) – we thought it appropriate to focus on honing skills that will help us succeed in a post-apocalyptic world. As such we headed out of the old office and into the wild to do a bit of team building via wilderness skills training.

The weather gods smiled upon us and a good time was had by all. Most importantly we’re well positioned for the future.

In seriousness, we’ve had a great year so far despite the bumps in the road thrown up by the global financial meltdown. A big thanks to the team for their hard work and to all of our partners for their support. We look forward to great things ahead.

Nestoria Team Day, Summer 2008

Fellow Nestordelphians!

We’ve been hard at work the last few months with the launch of Nestoria Italia, and much else as well. And, as we all know, all work and no play makes for a dull life, even when that work is the never ending fun and excitement of creating a great property search experience. So last week we decided to get out of the office for a day to enjoy the beautiful cloud formations of the English summer and have a bit of wholesome team fun. In keeping with British tradition we thought a round of golf was in order. In keeping with the hand eye coordination skills of the team and the budget of a start up, we went with a round of adhoc frisbee golf in the parks of central London.

A great game ensued, across a course stretching from Primrose Hill to Regent’s Park down to Hyde Park Corner and finally ending in St James’ Park. Our keen geography and mapping abilities were tested, competition was fierce, and the display of skills was impressive.

Here’s the requisite picture of the Nestoria team for the archives (last year’s photo drew a great deal of flattering commentary from across the real estate blogosphere).

Astute observers will notice that I’m wearing Lederhosen (third from right in front row). Beyond being damn comfortable, (and a magnet for, shall we say, interesting, comments while riding the tube) this was a celebration of our imminent launch of Nestoria Deutschland and the fulfillment of a drunken promise made a few months ago. In keeping with the Germanic theme, after a day of outdoor fun, we headed to German pub Zeitgeist, where many a Schnitzel was washed down by many a Bier. Good times.
