Nestoria team day Summer 2010

Fellow Nestorfarians,

as we've commented before, all work and no play makes for a very dull property search engine. Thus, after the recent flurry of work around the launch of Nestoria France, it was fitting that we take the day off to frolic in the summer sun. Long time readers will recall our past (mega-budget and ultra geo-geeky) outing to the prime meridian, or last summer's survival training (it turns out the over the top recessionary gloom might not have been warranted). This year we decided to keep it a bit closer to home while still retaining as much geo-geek flavour as possible.

Unfortunately our original plan of a GPS based scavenger hunt didn't quite pan out (fucking technology - who needs it??) and instead we fell back on the old tried and true pencil and paper scavenger hunt. We fanned out in teams racing across Clerkenwell, hunting clues, finding odd sights, foiling the other teams and generally having a laugh.

As always in life there were winners and losers in this contest, and my team decided early on that it would be a shrewd morale-building gesture to allow the others to win. In this context, I offer a hearty congrats to the winners.

In sum, a good time was had by all, and we learnt a lot about our little piece of London. We then retired for a nice meal and an evening at the pub.

Overall, a great day. It was a good chance to reflect on our progress this year and gather strength for the tasks ahead. Many thanks to the entire team for a great year so far, and most all thanks to our partners and users for their support - rest assured it remains much appreciated.

BTW, if all this looks like fun, please come join us. And with that, dear reader, I sign off for a few weeks of much needed summer holiday and invite you to enjoy the August break (but rest assured the blog will carry on in my absence so be sure to check your feed reader regularly).
