Fellow Nestorneys!
I’m pleased to let you know that for the third year in a row Nestoria will be sponsoring the annual
London Perl Workshop, an all day gathering of perl programmers to be held on 29th of November. The final lineup of speakers is not yet set, but we have high hopes to have a few Nestoria representatives on the list. The past events have been very informative both for experienced perl users and those just looking to get started, and anyone in the London area with any interest in perl should attend.
As a company we’ve benefited tremendously from all the hard work put into perl by literally 1000’s of volunteers over the last decade, and we’re very happy to do our small bit to help perl. Happily the pace of innovation in the perl world seems to be accelerating with more and more high quality tools being released by the many companies that use perl on a daily basis. The best (but by no means the only) example is the
New York Time’s recent release of profiling tool
NYTProf which has helped us shave many milliseconds off of every Nestoria property search. Likewise we’d like to recognize the great work going on across the web at sites like
Perlbuzz to motivate and coordinate the perl community. Your work is much appreciated, as is all the help we get from the good folks at
London.pm.
Big thanks to the organizers and all the other sponsors, we’re looking forward to a great event. If any of us get selected to speak we’ll of course post our slides here.
