Since we expanded to cover the whole of the UK a few months ago we’ve had great feedback from the online property community (not to mention great growth in number of users).
We’ve also had more than a few requests from webmasters asking how they can have adopt some of the features of the Nestoria property search. As avid readers of the blog will know, we’re always on the lookout for ways to provide tools for webmasters, and these requests got us thinking. Today, we’re pleased to present the result: a free, easy to install co-branded Nestoria search that allows any webmaster to offer his or her users a best of breed property search experience. What are the main benefits of the Nestoria co-branded property search?- It’s yours! You can customise the look and feel to fit your user experience
- It’s good! Your users get the same great relevancy, user experience and comprehensiveness that we offer on Nestoria itself.
- It’s simple We’ve done our best to make it as easy as possible to set up.
- It’s free!

Can you please get rid of th fish4homes tag on all property search’s.
If this is how the Nestoria is going to be from now on i will be using a diffrent engine to find property.
Its plain stupid. search nestoria, find list of property’s, click on interesting property , fish4homes then leaps in and gives me some poor excuse of detaisl with poor quality single picture , only with the details of the agent selling it !!
Nestoria was much better search nestoria, find list of property’s, click on interesting property, taken then to relevent agent with full details and full pictures of quality.
Get a grip people and sort it out .
I know no one who use’s fish for anything for precisley this reason, rubbish details with difficulty contact details for the things they find for you, always out of date.
I look forward to a possible reply
thanks

You are definitely right Simon. That is why extate.co.uk has chosen to ONLY crawl agents and direct users to full listings, unlike everyone else who simply gets feeds from portals like fish4, and mashes ‘em up. The quality can only be as good as the source.
Unfortunately I fear it’s worse than just the portals. The software providers are responsible for providing data to any portal and they simply do not collect all the important information (I know because I used to work for one). So as suggested “the quality can only be as good as the source” but the source data is from the agents via the software providers. Both as bad as each other.
Hi guys, many thanks for taking the time to comment, great to see how passionate you are about this. Data quality is a major issue. Since it’s unrelated from to the original topic of this post I’ve dashed off my response in a new post.
Artemi, keep up the good work. We follow your site closely, always interesting to see what you’re up to.This is a nice feature. Would you recommend using this approach, as opposed to your api?
Hi “thoughts”
I can’t say this approach is better or worse then the API (or our other tools), it depends on what’s right for your website and level of technical skill. The co-branded search is intentially designed to not be very technically complex, while the API gives you full freedom to let your geek dreams run wild. Up to you to know what the right approach is for your site. Happy to discuss your situaiton individually, drop me a line via the feedback from.
cheers,
Ed
Many thanks for the response.
I am still very much learning about all this stuff, and will drop you a line when I have a better idea of what I would like to achieve.
It’s fascinating to watch you guys innovating. Keep up the good work!
Guys : the issue of data quality is one that covers all classifieds sectors, specifically property where trying to accurately locate a listing is very difficult. I know of some people in motors who are trying to put some industry standards in place for listings - perhaps we should get together and do the same for property ? Its also interesting to see what v-flyer is doing in the USA in this space as well
I’m just in the process of selling my mum’s house in Spain and am new to the property market so I’ll definitely have a look of this. A friend of mine in the US set up a property site that turned over 6 figures in its first two months, but I’m not looking at doing anything quite so ambitious as this -just want to get my Mum’s house sold.
